Local Matters Call for Volunteers to Support Local Food Programs

Local Matters is a nonprofit organization, serving the Central Ohio area, working to create healthier communities through food. Our mission is to inspire action because food impacts the quality of our health, our land, and our communities. We teach children and adults what healthful food is, where it comes from, and how to prepare wholesome, delicious meals at home.

Volunteers help further our mission in many different ways. Our volunteers teach cooking skills to adults and families at risk of hunger, care for learning gardens at schools and recreation centers around Columbus, lead fun food activities for kids inside and outside of the classroom, prepare ingredients in our kitchen for educational workshops, and much more! They are people just like you who are passionate about the link between nutrition and health and want to see a more just food system in Central Ohio.
