ECDI (the nonprofit Economic and Community Development Institute) has created a special “Invest Local Ohio” fund that allows anyone with a minimum of $1000 to earn up to 3% interest for a 5 year note. This rate is higher than typical CDs and money market funds that invest your money in the global economy.
